Ensembl .The Ensembl pre-build site provides displays of genomes that are in the process of being annotated. Not all standard Ensembl displays are available. Genomes are put up here when we have done the initial BLAST analysis on a new assembly but have not completed the gene build. It is provided as an "early access" site for our users.
Due to the preliminary nature of the data, Pre-Ensembl provides contigviews of the assembly, BLAST against the assembly and download of portions of the assembly - and little else. In general a full Ensembl release takes months depending on how complex the data are and the time constraints of people in the team.

Ensembl is a joint project between EMBL - EBI and the Sanger Institute to develop a software system which produces and maintains automatic annotation on selected eukaryotic genomes. Ensembl is primarily funded by the Wellcome Trust.
This site provides free access to all the data and software from the Ensembl project. Click on a species name to browse the data.
Access to all the data produced by the project, and to the software used to analyse and present it, is provided free and without constraints. Some data and software may be subject to third-party constraints.
